Zebra Meridian & Other Stories by Geoffrey W. Cole

$5.99$24.99

A darkly humorous short story collection coming September 2024.

“A dozen stories across all the speculative genres that demonstrate the breadth and depth of work by one of the best short story writers working today.” – Robert J. Sawyer, Hugo Award-winning author of The Downloaded

Set in ominously plausible futures, ZEBRA MERIDIAN courses with stories that explore love & heartbreak, loyalty & betrayal, our powerlessness in the face of nature, and the impossible decisions we make to survive. A contemporary Canadian voice with shades of Simmons and Saunders, Geoffrey W. Cole examines the line we walk between confronting and abandoning the past, and shows us that the human condition is unbound by space and time. A beautifully haunting collection.” – Sean McCallum, author of The Recalcitrant Stuff of Life

“Strange and intriguing … hard to put down.” – Tangent Online

“A phantasmagoric brew.” – Black Gate Review

“Amusing, wild.” – SF Revu

Description

About the Book

Set in worlds awash with bizarre religious cults, young gods surfing the heat death of the universe, the dog rapture, macabre puppetry, time-loops, and a cigarette-addicted duck, Geoffrey W. Cole’s short fiction bubbles both with giddy absurdism and characters weathering strangeness with tenderness and generosity. The wry voice of these thirteen science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories will encourage readers to find delight in the dark and humor in the many ways humans find connection in a disconnected world.
